TO OUR PATIENTS:
Just like grocery stores and gas stations, healthcare facilities must be available to serve the needs of the public during these trying times. As such, Niles Dental Center shall remain open.
If you have any dental issues that require attention we are there for you.
We do ask though, that if you have any signs or symptoms of respiratory illness to please postpone any non-emergency or elective procedures.
Together we will survive this virus attack and soon life will return as we knew it before.
Stay healthy!

Digital Implant Planning New Technology
Dr Pogorzelski recently attended a workshop on Digital Implant Placement. The current standard of care requires a patient in certain situations to have a CT scan for for implant placement. From the CT scan doctors can plan the size and position of implants with in the patient. As part of the planning the new software technology allows for the creation of a surgical drill guide that positions the surgeons drill in the exact location and angle to properly place the implant. From CT scan to digital implant placement using a surgical guide is the current state of the art in implant dentistry. These guides greatly help streamline the doctor/patient experience resulting in a quicker and less stressful visit.
The guides can be created in the doctor’s office using a 3D printer. This procedure significantly reduces treatment time, the number of patient visits and creates a much more pleasant experience for both the doctor and patient. We have incorporated this technology within our practice.
Besides implant placement the 3D printer is capable of producing dentures and clear orthodontic aligners.
I would like to thank Dr Giancarlo Romero of the” Houston Dental Education Center” for sharing with me his knowledge of this subject.
Twelve to sixteen weeks is the usual wait time for placing a crown on an implant. This is soon to change. I attended a Symposium on Osseodensification in January. A complete new way of thinking about the placement of implants was presented. This paradigm shift will allow patients to get the crowns placed on their implants much sooner, sometimes on the day of implant placement!
Also snap on dentures may be "snapped-on" the same day as implant placement. No more waiting twelve weeks.
More to come on this topic.
We have all seen the add for "teeth in a day." Well it's true but very misleading. Can you get teeth in a day, yes, but..... The but is that it took several visits prior to the patient getting their teeth in a day.
When we say teeth in a day we usually mean a full denture that is screwed into implants placed all in the same day. A minimum of 4 implants is required to be the foundation for a lower denture prosthesis. In the upper arch many times up to 6 implant are required due to the "softer" nature of the maxillary bone.
The denture can be made to be removed by the patient or only by the dentist.
We have successfully performed this service at Niles Dental Center.
More to come on this subject.
Our staff is enjoying the results of their Botox/Dermal filler experience. Very good results. Round two of treatment coming soon!
Here is round two.
Dr Pogorzelski and staff recently attended and completed training to provide Botox and dermal fillers (Juvederm) to our patients! Extremely safe and reversible, these procedures can be life changing. The training was provided by the American Academy of Facial Esthetics (AAFE), the #1 Botox Training Course and Dermal Filler Training Course for Dentists.
